Tod’s Ferrari Autumn/Winter 2011-2012 collection gets its inspiration from the Ferrari chassis, where moulding aluminium and the composite materials take the shape, the spirit and the personality of the Prancing Horse cars. Accessorised with clean lines and geometric forms recreating the latest generation car’s feeling, there are reminders of rivets and bolts; oil treatment added to colour and material combinations that can be found in the interiors of the cars themselves. Finally, typical of Ferrari origins are the interiors with lining and contrasting coloured supports, as well as the stitching, using the thread for the seats of the grand tourism cars.
Tod’s famous Gommini for Ferrari are produced entirely by hand, using alternates of six different work stages, representing the perfect balance between tradition, modernity and technology. Very high quality leather hides have been cut and sewn by hand with impeccable care and precision to create a driving shoe that is the true icon of style and elegance.
