2006 248 F1 original piston
A Scuderia Ferrari collector's item, this original 248 F1 piston is now enjoying a new lease of life as an art piece for fans.
With seven victories by Schumacher and three by newcomer Felipe Massa, 2006 marked Ferrari's return to the competition. Above all though, it was the season that saw the end of Schumacher's time at Maranello, with his retirement announced after his victory at Monza.
The starring single-seater of the season, the 248 F1 is the 52nd Ferrari and its name is a reference to the drive mechanism: an 8-cylinder V engine with a total capacity of 2400 cm³. This collector's item is part of a series of mechanical parts from Ferrari Formula 1 engines that have made history.
The piston is presented on an elegant carbon fibre base, with a red insert and enamelled Shield, handmade in Italy and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by the Scuderia Ferrari Team Principal. The piston is freestanding and slots into the base, so that it can be easily removed and examined in detail.
Each piston is a unique piece and a limited edition. The images may not correspond exactly with the item purchased.
