Ferrari's 48th racing car made its debut on 31 March 2002, winning the Brazilian Grand Prix in the expert hands of Michael Schumacher, before going on to reign supreme, circuit after circuit, winning 15 out of a total of 17 Grand Prix races. To top these spectacular achievements, Scuderia Ferrari also took home both the Drivers' and Constructors' titles at the 2002 World Championship.
With a maximum power of 17,800 rpm and an engine capacity of 2996.62 cc, the 90° 10V longitudinal 051 engine was the undisputed star of a season that came to a premature end, the Driver's title already scored at Magny-Cours, a fifth for the German champion, and the Constructor's title secured at Budapest.
