The original piston from the F1-2002 single-seater, winner of the Constructors' and Drivers' World Championships, is now enjoying a new lease of life as an exclusive collector's item for fans of Scuderia Ferrari history.
The 2002 Formula 1 season saw Ferrari take the lead, with 15 wins out of 17 races, 11 of which were won by Michael Schumacher, who had already been crowned World Champion for the fifth time in July. A record year thanks to the extraordinary F1-2002.
This piece is part of a series of mechanical parts from the engines of Ferrari single-seaters that have gone down in history.
Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by the Scuderia Ferrari Team Principal, it is displayed on an elegant carbon fibre base, with a distinctive red insert and enamelled Shield, handmade in Italy by expert craftsmen. The piston is freestanding and slots into the base, so that it can be easily removed and examined in detail.
