Shot by Rafael Pavarotti at the Scaglietti Factory, the FW26 ADV campaign explores the connection between the human and the mechanical, the continuity between epidermis, body and way of being: a harmony that is essential to Creative Director Rocco Iannone’s work, always guided by an emphasis on the sensual, on the subtle tangibility of eros.
The context is significant. Sergio Scaglietti, founder of the eponymous coachbuilding house, was one of Enzo Ferrari’s closest collaborators: the one who transformed ideas into things. The protagonists of the images are models Mila Van Eeten and Fernando Cabral. The images are characterised by a raking, analytical light that enhances the surfaces, revealing their grain, weight and texture. Just as paint is the skin of a car, the chromatic and tactile seal of its form, so clothing is revealed in its nature as a covering and extension of skin and body, and as architecture to inhabit, made of different textures.
In the constant dialogue between masculine and feminine, the campaign brings to completion the thinking expressed in the fashion show: the vision of skin as a membrane connecting us to the world, a sentient surface, a means of touching and being touched, the first instrument through which we experience the human and transform it into knowledge. The pursuit of impact is expressed through a rigorous visual synthesis: light and backgrounds, together with the monochrome nature of the looks, direct attention to the individual, the architecture of the garment and the corporeality of the body.
Absolute in its aesthetic purity, the message is plural: the possibility of choosing not one, but countless skins to be in, each in harmony with the individuality of the wearer
